Johan Oosthuizen is Associate Director and Responsible Sourcing Lead for Africa at SLR Consulting, where he helps organisations turn sustainability commitments into practical systems that work in the real world. With more than 15 years’ experience and over 1,000 audit and assessment days across mining, agriculture, renewable energy, infrastructure, and supply chain-intensive sectors, Johan advises companies, financial institutions, boards, and senior leaders on responsible sourcing, ESG governance, supplier development, sustainability assurance, data integrity, and risk management.

His work spans 26 countries across Africa, LATAM, and Europe, and is grounded in frameworks including the IFC Performance Standards, OECD Due Diligence Guidance, ILO conventions, UNGPs, ETI Base Code, and AA1000 assurance principles. His focus is making these frameworks useful inside real businesses, where procurement choices, local context, and community relationships shape real impact.
